Kamas pool

We took the kids up to Peoa last weekend to meet up with Bryan, Rachel, & Travis. We decided to take the kids to the Kamas rec center and go swimming. Kyah has never been a HUGE fan of the water, but hasn't really been exposed to it much. She clung on pretty tight, but Spencer really enjoyed it! There was a little slide and we made Kyah go down it. She wasn't very happy with us. We took her to the big slide and she LOVED it! She wanted to go down it over and over and over. It was a really fun day!

Manti Temple

Thursday night, my sister-in-law, Becky, hosted a Cookie Lee party. She and her cousin Janie had made plans to take a trip to Manti to go to the temple there the following Saturday and Becky invited me. I was so excited to go because I had never been there before....not even for the pageant. We went with Janie, her Dad, Jack, and step mom, Cindy and my mom. There is never a dull moment in the Jensen family, I've decided. Jack and Cindy were so nice and Janie is so fun! She's obsessed with taking pictures, so hopefully she doesn't care I stole these from her! It was such a fun trip. The temple is amazing. I'm so glad I got to go! I couldn't believe some of the craftsmanship. It is amazing to stop and think about how much work had to go into it before the modern conveniences we have now. I was most impressed by an article of temple clothing that they had hanging in a shadow box right after you enter. It was an original version from the 1800s. It was such a neat experience!

We are the Champions, my friend!

For the past 4 or so weeks, our ward has been advertising a stake chili cook off. Every week they would announce it, they would talk about the ward rivalry and how Craig won it last year and lots of people were out to steal his title. I thought about going, but didn't think more than that. This past Sunday, when they were announcing it, I remembered that when Kyle and I first started dating, he made me the most amazing chili. It is SO good! I decided I wanted to enter. I never saw the sign up sheet go around in Primary, but I decided I would just show up with chili and they'd have to enter me in the competition. I spent all day in the kitchen today, but it was obviously well worth it. We were up against about 30 other flavors of chili and we actually won first place! Our prize was a ladle and two oven mits. We also won a first place ribbon, but we lost it at the church....oops! We're awesome!

Kyah's mysterious experience

So I was watching the Jazz game tonight and Kyah was standing next to me. All of a sudden, she looked up at the corner of the wall (there is nothing there) and got all excited. She got the biggest smile on her face and was pointing. She kept looking at me, like, look, mom, look! Then she started waving. I looked in the direction she pointed. Obviously, there was nothing there that I could see, so I looked back at her. She did it again. Pointed, smiled real big and vigorously waved again. I finally asked her, "what do you see Kyah?" She just kept saying Dah-dee, dah-dee. She hasn't learned the word Grandpa yet.....did she have a special visitor tonight? Luckily I had my camera sitting in my lap from uploading pictures tonight and was able to catch a picture of where she was looking.

OK, I give in!

I have often thought about starting a blog. I can't say I'm anti-blog like I'd say I was about the networking sights that I have unwillingly joined and become addicted to. I just always thought, if I start a blog, it will be one more thing I have to keep up with and the thought of it stresses me out. But lately, I have found myself thinking, wow, if I had a blog, I'd so put that on it. Not to mention, that by not having a blog, I am never updated on when others make changes to theirs, so I never know when to check everybody's. So I'm giving in. Here we go. I've told myself, I don't have to blog every little thing. I will just do anything that seems really important. But let's be honest. I don't do anything halfway. I'm a bit of a perfectionist. We'll see how this goes!
